Well! This podcast was a little different than what we normally do; while we spend a lot of time on politics, we all have varying interests. There's quite a bit of things in the world that fascinate us. Actually, the bulk of the things the Motorcycle Patriot crew finds interesting have nothing to do with politics. The problem, and the reason we cover so much regarding politics and history, is because its hyper-important and really impacts our lives (whether we want to admit it or not).
You've heard the Whiskeycast episodes, though, and we thought we'd talk about some things we hadn't yet. There's a couple of things we discussed in this one.
If you have any interest in looking into the religion of the Vikings, a couple of books you can check out are below. There's also sources such as the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda, but these are the ones I'm working through right now:
A Modern Guide to Heathenry by Galina Krasskova--This title is more from a religious perspective, but is a fascinating look at the faith of the Germanic tribes including the Vikings. A good read for anyone interested. You can find the book on Amazon at:
Futhark: A Handbook of Rune Magic by Edred Thorsson--This title is about the runes used by the Germanic tribes. Believe in the whole magic thing or don't, but this book gives you an interesting perspective on the symbols and meanings of the runes and what contributed to the Viking culture.
We also do talk a whole lot about the comic book movies and a bunch of bike, and pop-culture, stuff. I highly doubt ya'll need any sources for the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, but if you're interested in Man with No Name's question about Natalie Portman becoming the next Thor, you could always check out the comic itself. It's been a while since I've read it, and I may have forgotten some of the good bits, but it's not a bad read.
