The Man w/ No Name's Ep. 6.5 Thoughts
Let me start by saying - just because I left town the weekend of the High Capacity Fabrication Fest that was the Biden Gun Presser, does not mean I was able to outrun it. I traveled through some of the most 2A enlightened parts of this fine country while these Rights snipers had their crosshairs trained to the back of mine and Lady Liberty's heads. It was nice of Deuce and Dawg to provide me with some listening material but I have some thoughts of my own to share.
The most difficult thing about breaking down what our 78 year old President is saying is deciding whether to take his words literally or to guess at what you think he was trying to say. I don't know for sure if this is because he is an old demented man; it could be the fact that he is a lawyer, a politician, or just plain has a history of lying and plagiarizing.
Sidebar - Before 2016, all I heard people say was they wished we had political leaders who spoke like a normal person. We didn't want anymore of this magician crap where they said one thing and two sentences later said the opposite. Well fast forward 4 years and a large chunk of the population are ok with the magician crap again as long as they don't have to "deal with the Tweeting." #covfef4lyfe
Check out this Magic Trick

First Magic Trick
Left Hand "Nothing I'm about to recommend impinges on the Second Amendment"
Right Hand "But no Amendment to the Constitution is absolute"
Think about that for a second folks. If he isn't about to suggest impingements (defined as intrusion into an area belonging to or affecting someone or something else), why did he have to make the second statement? That should frame everything up nice and easy for you. As far as the statement itself-remember, an Amendment is a law the government is to follow, set by the people. This is the leader of your government telling you that they don't have to follow the rules We the People set out for them to follow. And as for restricting your Right to Free Speech saying you can't yell "FIRE!" in a theater, that is a direct misquote of Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes who stated, "The most stringent protection of free speech would not protect a man in falsely ( emphasis added) shouting fire in a theatre and causing a panic." Notice the difference between the actual quote and the straw man talking point. You absolutely can yell "FIRE!" in a theater… if there's a DAMN FIRE! In fact, I would say it is your responsibility to do so.
Second Magic Trick
Gun death statistics
We are used to this one folks - "316 people are shot every single day 106 of them die" but as we know, 61% of those are self inflicted. If we were trying to be honest, we would be talking about the suicide problem MORE than the gun "problem"… but we're not trying to be honest now, are we? Why are we just screaming talking points at each other? This is exactly why. I'm going to pose a question to anyone reading who disagrees with me - can we first look into the biggest problems with these numbers, suicides and gang/drug violence? If not, why? And before you say "I just don't think you need a gun," let me answer with "I just don't think you need to take my gun." There, our arguments hold the same amount of weight so let's move on.
Third Magic Trick
Gun violence is an epidemic
No. Its not. By definition. You would have to change the definition of the word (which to their credit, they've managed). Let me share with you the definition of another word:
Newspeak, noun: ambiguous euphemistic language used chiefly in political propaganda
Thanks Orwell!
Fourth Magic Trick
Ghost guns! Spooooooky
Ol‘ Sticky Fingers Joe is 80% of the way there on this one. He states, without evidence (damn that term feels good to use on them), that criminals are building AR's and using them to commit crimes… they're not. The ghost guns criminals are using are stolen firearms with serial numbers scratched off. Which brings up the point: stop leaving your guns unsecured and in your vehicles! Car lockboxes aren't expensive! Sorry, pet peeve.
Fifth Magic Trick
Anyone who would use a firearm is using it for nefarious reasons
You have to read into this one a bit. Biden wants to eliminate pistol braces because they make an AR pistol easier to shoot with more accuracy. Isn't accuracy what we would hope for? Or does it just get in the way of you firing a couple rounds into the air to scare off the criminal? These people can't imagine a world where you and I would need to use a firearm to defend ourselves against someone who wants to do us or our loved ones harm. They have a toddler-like mindset and are so selfish they refuse to consider other people.
Sixth Magic Trick
Registration and taxation
We know what's wrong about registration- its so they know who to come to when they finally get the full ban they are working towards. It’s the taxation, or registration fee, or whatever they are going to call it next that upsets me even more because of the subtlety behind it. These tax stamps directly attack the poorest among us. The people who need to protect themselves the most. And using their own statistics, our minority population. If the Georgia voting ID law was racist because "minorities can't afford a $4 ID" then what the hell do you call this? We need to start calling these people out for their blatant racism - then maybe the MLB will move their next All-star game from D.C. to Arlington!!! Yee-haw!
Seventh Magic Trick
Red flag laws are for protection, not for taking away your guns Minority Report style (guilty until proven innocent)
I fail to see how this is not an impingement and an infringement. Listen, I get the idea behind this. It sounds great on its surface, but do we want to start down this path and set this precedent? If this is acceptable, why not be able to tell someone they aren't able to leave their house because they are a danger to themselves or others? They've already gotten us to go along with it due to COVID. Is it outrageous to suggest they would tack this on to the Red Flag laws?
Eighth Magic Trick
Back Ground Checks vs Loopholes
We've covered these "loopholes" extensively. The only true "loophole" is that you do not need a background check if you sell Intrastate between private people who are legally allowed to possess. The reason the feds are not allowed to stick their grubby little hands in this is due to the Commerce Clause of the United States Constitution. So now, according to Biden, not only are Amendments of the Constitution not absolute neither are the Articles. They are, simply put, refusing to follow the law and they don't give a crap. And we wonder why the Founding Fathers hated government.
Ninth Magic Trick
Painting the gun lobby as the boogey man
Are the lobbies funded by the gun industry? Sure. Are they also funded by the millions and millions of average citizens who want their voices heard? Hell yes they are. Biden didn't just "fight" the gun corporations in the 90's, he also fought the U.S. citizens he is supposed to serve.
Tenth Magic Trick
Gun industry immunity
"Can't be sued, is exempt from being sued" is the language he uses and it is a flat out lie. He is referring to 2005 Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) which keeps people from suing manufactures when their products are used to harm people. This law was put in place to ensure gun manufactures were treated the SAME as other industries, not differently. What Biden is calling for would be the same as allowing people to sue Louisville Slugger if one of their bats was used to smack the cover off someone's face or suing Ford for someone drag racing their Focus into a tree.
Parting thoughts
Don't let these people lie to you - whether its your politicians or the Karen at the office who thinks Spooky AR's are killing 100,000 children a year. Put your foot down. Stand up for your Right to protect yourself and your Right to your property because, according to the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, your Rights are not absolute. And if they can take this one, they can take all of them.
